Curtisville Cemetery is located at the northeast corner of the town bearing the same name. It is thought that both came into existence at the same time in 1859. Soloman and Susan Brittenham owned the land on which the cemetery is situated on at the time of the first two burials. The first burial was that of Nathaniel Knotts who died January 12, 1859. The second person to be buried, Joseph Caldwell, died ten days later. No early records for this cemetery exist or were even made. Rows are numbered east to west; stones north to south. |
